Learning in groups: useful or not?

Learning is a difficult job, and I think that many people hold the same opinion. In school we learn in different ways and maybe ones are better than the others.
For example, in Chemistry we learn by practising lots of exercises, I History we learn by memorizing the dates and names but in English we learn by working in groups and speaking about the topic, moreover we discuss it and we present it to the class.

Firstly, I have to say that many people believe that it doesn’t matter how many times you have memorized the date, or the way of doing that Chemistry exercise… what really is in account here is how much interest you put on it. Everything could be done by you but it depend on your interest and effort. It doesn’t mind if the topic it’s too difficult to speak about, everything done by you is what really counts.

Secondly and not less important… it’s not just the attention what account; the people with who you are working with it’s another point to speak about. Imagine you’ve a pair of lazy boy or girls, if you want a good mark you can’t let the project on their hands because they won’t do anything, so all the work must be done by you.
Not only this point, you’ll get disinterested for the project and you won’t put too much interest in it, so you’re not going to learn a lot.

To sum up it’s clear that it’s useful for learning to work in groups only if you have concern in doing the project, moreover because you get into the topic and it’s a different way of learning in what we are accustomed to do but independently of whatever the kind of people you are working with.
