Looking Back on your Blog

Well, I have to say that I have improved a lot during these years. Not only because of the projects we do in class, it's simply because the effort i put on it. Anything I have learnt couldn't be done if I didn't pain attention at it. So, YES, I improved more and more each day especially in the writing, of course. This term we have done too much writings but it's OK for our improvement.
You can see my improving, for example, comparing writing from this year and from the last one. I use more connectors and more link words. I have to confess that meanwhile I was doing the writing I followed a sheet with link word but it has helped me in memorizing it. Moreover my English has improves in the peaking too.
As I told you before, the writing is, for me, the key for learning faster and better. I think that it’s a very important part in learning because this way you have a better fluency in your speaking and its grate too for practicing the grammatical skills.
I’m really sorry to tell you that the voice recorder project wasn’t useful at all…  I find it boring and there’s not a lot to speak about. When the teacher tells me to do that my inspiration flies away and that’s the reason why it’s not useful for me.
The project I like most… I don’t know which one I could choose. In general, all of them are good for our learning. But maybe, the FCE sheet exam is for me the most important one because it’s for our future exams and our career.
As far as I’m concerned, this year has been so useful because of the writing, maybe they were a lot of writing but it’s OK to repeat it again and again. I’m very proud of my improvement and I wish to keep learning English.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT BULLYING?

Most of you may know what’s the bulling and surely the half has suffered its abuses. It’s very common when you are a teenager, in school, for many reasons but all of them are ridicules ones. For the monitors, any simple imperfection can be the reason why and from here it goes farer away feel very strongly that this may stop, not only because it’s not a good thing, it’s because of the effects the bussed have.

Firstly, as I said, it’s not good to do that, there’s no equally between the people at the moment of the assault and this must be banned. It’s a human right have equally between the people, and moreover between genders. So if someone breaks this right, he/she must pay for it and go to prison. If you hurt someone others will do it to you.

Secondly, I’ve to remind that everyone has feelings and all the abuses of bully effects on the behaviour and on the health of the affected. He/she can take mental disorders and more extremely he/she can commit suicide.

Moreover, not everyone has the effort to speak with someone and they keep all for themselves. This is a big problem because if you don’t get help, the bully will never stop. Don’t be afraid and speak to someone for help.

As far as I’m concerned, I believe that bully is awful and bad seen. Why you do that? Get into your business and let others live. If you don’t like your life don’t hurt other to have fun and make it interesting. Therefore, all who is being abused doesn’t have to silent, even more, you have to speak and this way they will pay for all the pain you’ve passed. I haven’t suffered bully but I know what’s loneliness and as a consequence of this I’m here to help everyone who needs my shoulder to dry on.

E-Cigarettes help smokers to quit

From smokers experiences the e-cigarettes are like inhaling vapour with a concentration of nicotine. In 2010 it was just the 8% of the smokers who have tried it, but nowadays the percentage has increased to the half part of them and still going up. There are around two million people using them and probably it will increase the numbers.

Why? It’s easy: a new study suggest that the smokers who use a cigarette to quit are more likely to succeed than those who use willpower alone or buy nicotine replacement therapies, such as parches or gums.
So this new e-cigarettes are cautiously positive but unfortunately the government wants to restrict their use in public place.

Nevertheless professor Robert Wast says that these e-cigarettes could improve public health and even to stop the smokers smoke. Not only for the smokers, for the environment too. He confirms that the vapour of the e-cigarettes is less risky than the smoking one.

From my point of view, I think that they must let smoking e-cigarettes in public because they are not contradictory for people and far from the environment.

Why is Mediterranean diet healthy?

The Mediterranean diet consists of an abundance of vegetables, fresh fruit, wholegrain cereals, olive oil and nuts, poultry and fish. But the combinations of the olive oil and leafy salad or vegetables are what make it the healthiest, as many scientists say.

All the food already said has nutritional benefits and it’s another reason of why it’s so healthy.

Professor Philip Eaton and Co. believe that all those fusion of ingredients makes nitro fatty acids. They saw, with genetically engineered, their impact on the body and the conclusion was that they helped in a lower blood pressure by blocking an enzyme called epoxide hydrolase. Professor Eaton says that if they are able to tap into this they could make new drugs for treating high blood pressure and preventing heart diseases.

This new discoveries are good for new pathways in Chemistry, Biology, Medicine… all kind of investigations. Every little step is welcome to this new world of technology because I’m sure that we will be stronger and healthier than what we are now. Welcome to the new world where everything is possible!

HIGH BMI STEM-CELL DONORS ‘’safe’’

An experiment carried out by Dr Annelies Billen confirm that people with a high Body Mass Index can make equally good stemcells donors as those who are a healthy weight.

It was said that this people with higher Body Mass Index weren’t as good as the others who has the correct one. But all who though that ere were wrong. This new research has proven the opposite.

Moreover, they are even more safely and successfully than who are under than 35 of Body Mass Index, this experiment showed non side-effect on any of the 19 studied people after donating. In this study has found too the best donors of stem cells, who are those between 35 and 40 of Body Mass Index witch is classified as “very obese”

I think that now it’s the time of modern methods for biology and medicine and we must believe in them, we must believe in the others for their stem cells donation. In addition I dedicate this investigation to all those obese persons who think that they are bad seen in the society. Is their time to feel happy and proud of them because in a close future they will save us with their stem cell.

Learning in groups: useful or not?

Learning is a difficult job, and I think that many people hold the same opinion. In school we learn in different ways and maybe ones are better than the others.
For example, in Chemistry we learn by practising lots of exercises, I History we learn by memorizing the dates and names but in English we learn by working in groups and speaking about the topic, moreover we discuss it and we present it to the class.

Firstly, I have to say that many people believe that it doesn’t matter how many times you have memorized the date, or the way of doing that Chemistry exercise… what really is in account here is how much interest you put on it. Everything could be done by you but it depend on your interest and effort. It doesn’t mind if the topic it’s too difficult to speak about, everything done by you is what really counts.

Secondly and not less important… it’s not just the attention what account; the people with who you are working with it’s another point to speak about. Imagine you’ve a pair of lazy boy or girls, if you want a good mark you can’t let the project on their hands because they won’t do anything, so all the work must be done by you.
Not only this point, you’ll get disinterested for the project and you won’t put too much interest in it, so you’re not going to learn a lot.

To sum up it’s clear that it’s useful for learning to work in groups only if you have concern in doing the project, moreover because you get into the topic and it’s a different way of learning in what we are accustomed to do but independently of whatever the kind of people you are working with.

EDUCATIONAL BLOGGING

It’s a fact that many students have problems at the time of writing and for explain themselves. I had this problem till I started to write in my blog. As a consequence I have no doubt that writing in a blog has more benefits than you could imagine.

Firstly, I have to say that it’s not easy; it needs your time and patience. It’s hard at the beginning but then it gets easily as the time passes by.

Secondly, it’s too difficult to start for yourself to write but you have to do it, moreover you find it boring and in useful. Yet when you get the trick of the compositions you’ll start to like it more and more. Then you’ll be every Friday in front of the computer as me.
In addition you learn a little bit of everything because meanwhile you are finding in blogs what to write about you learn at the same time. When you comment some post you get courage and you start to feel free of writing about whatever you want.

If I were you, I would start doing something as I did, this way you’ll improve immediately and without realising it.

In conclusion, writing in blogs helps you a lot in expression, in taking courage, in having fluency at the time of writing and being social with other bloggers. Remember, if you want to improve in something you must do whatever to gain it.

SOLUTIONS FOR POLLUTION?

Nowadays, pollution is one of the most topics spoken about. It’s widely known that it’s a truly bad problem for our planet and that has gone further away than we should allow.

Firstly, I’m at one with the fact that if we got dirty the planet we must clean it. It’s our responsibility to look after the place we are living. It’s not only our home, is yours, too.

Secondly, we must do something to mend it. I believe that if everyone did something we would improve and we’d reduce the amount of pollution in the air. This way we have to fall the quality of products and materials apart from being more conscious of what to use and what to reuse, what to buy and what to sell.

Finally, on the one hand I hold the same opinion as everyone “it doesn’t matter for one paper” but on the other hand we ought to be over with this mentality, because that’s what brought us to this situation. Be awake and realise it. Don’t be like this kind of people and start being a better citizen helping the planet.

As far as I’m concerned I feel very strongly that we can do a lot of things to save the planet. Never is too late to try it. We have to do it for the right of everyone. Change your mind and let’s get a better use of the products and above all, of our wonderful world.

TERRORISM AND WAR ARE NOT NECESSARY !!!

What do I think about terrorism?

What’s the real meaning of terrorism? Why do they do this? Those questions are, at the same time, difficult but easy to answer. Basically, terrorism is all that kind of acts witch intended to create fear to the society. From my point of view these people are mad, evil; maleficent…

It’s like hatting people, making everything to get everyone be angry with everyone… Excuse me? May I have to remind you that you are a person too? That you live in the same world as us? If you want to destroy this planet don’t forget that you live in it.

Firstly I have to say that they have a mental problem. Everyone is living their life, they aren’t disturbing you. In exchange all the terrorist are making the opposite. It’s a, for me, well-known mental problem based in a phobia to all of them who are living better than you. It could be this problem they have, but it’s one of hundreds.

Secondly everything they want, as I said, is to alter the comfort of the people and, in a large scale, the society including all that important persons in the world like presidents, prime ministers, kings of monarchies… including them, of course. Imagine if there’s a massive attempt constantly and the police can’t do anything? Arriving to this point everyone, and I said everyone, is in danger. And it, extremely, entail the CHAOS.

Having said that, there’s no need stressing what I think about terrorism, I’m only going to say that if we do not stop them will be more deaths. We must live at once, without fear, as we want, peacefully.

 SOME TERRRORIST EXAMPLES:

TRAIN BOMBING in Madrid : March eleventh of 2004 (191 deaths), by Al-Qaeda

THE TWIN TOWERS : September eleventh of 2001, NYC(2.996 deaths), by a group of Al-Qaeda

This is a video that tells a little story with a moral beneath it. It's a very beautiful story and I recommend you to listen at it.
Once you see the video, surely you will be agreeing with me that egoism doesn't bring you anything less than problems. Anyone must be egoist because it doesn't affect only to him /her, it affect to everybody who's around you.
Maybe you’re saying I’m crazy, but think about it… One perfect example is reflected in childhood. When the little guys are growing they just want to do the same things adults do. If we are like egoists, everyone will be like this in a nearly future. Life is difficult and moreover when you are living in the same planet. We must live together, coexist.

So, take a time to think about it, change yourself if you consider egoist, say sorry for that in what you feel bad to do it… its better late than never.

I WAS ALMOST BITTEN BY A SPIDER

You couldn’t imagine what happened to me in Myanmar. I went there with my husband years ago, in summer. I think that this is the most exciting trip I’ve ever done. The story went this way:

In the morning we went to visit the city and as we walked a lot we were exhausted. It was too hot outside, nearly forty degrees and as you can imagine we sweated a lot. After we had had lunch we rested the siesta in our bungalow for a couple of hours. I wake up first and I went to check my make-up. Meanwhile I was in the bad room, my husband woke up too. I was nearly to finished when I listened him shouting: “Look” there’s a spider above the television on the wall!” I didn’t take care of it and without much interest I just said “Kill it”. Understand me; I thought it was a little spider, not a fourteen-centimetre-long one. My husband was paralyzed, he was in a shock. I immediately called the reception and they came in an open and close of the eyes. We thought that just one man were enough but they came five big ones. It took me by surprise.

At the same time they were taking a leader, I helped my husband to come to earth again. The man sprayed the spider and it felt on the floor unconsciously.

I’m not sure of what happened that afternoon… everything passed too quickly. What’s better is that I slept like a baby that night. If like nothing had happened.

Luckily we didn’t see another spider during the holidays. It’s been a memorable day, as the face my husband made because I’d never seen him like this. It was so funny!

MY FIRST DAY IN LONDON

Thursday, 20 of March, 2014

This has been my first day to London. What a stressful day!! I went to England three years ago but I just stayed one day in London. This time is different; I'm going to stay here for four days.

Today I woke up at half past two because we need to stay at half past three in the high school. We had to be at the airport at six because our flight took off at half pass eight. I couldn't sleep during the trip to the airport and to London neither I could.

After the long trip, we had to stay one hour more in a bus for take us to the hostel "Elephant and Castle" SAFESTAY. All of us were excited to arrive finally to our "home" because it was full of colours; the hostel was beautiful and modern. But we couldn't go to our room because they weren’t finished and we had to wait till the night. Meanwhile we went to visit all the monuments and museums we could. Firstly we went to have lunch in front of the Big Ben and the London Eye, by underground. For my view the Big Ben was still as smaller as I saw it for the first time, and the London Eye was as awesome as the same time I saw it three years ago. Then, we went to see the place where the change of hour takes place. Then we went through the street till arrive to Piccadilly Circus, Times Square and Oxford street. After a long walk we went to the hostel.

I don’t know if I was the unique one but I had a shower and I went to bed. OMG I was so exhausted!!

Dear Lixie,

You couldn’t imagine where I am. I’m in Africa, living there for a couple of months with Namibia people. I know I told you I would never live in a place live that but I radically change my mind.
It’s absolutely amazing how they live. They collect their food, they feed their animals and they eat them too.
Everything they use the thing they had done for themselves.
Here everyone lives like a big family. Everyone helps to teach other, even if you are a foreigner.
Their houses are peculiar because they are made from wood and they are very resistant. It doesn’t rain a lot and there’s not a lot of water.
But, guess what? I’m still alive! I think that it’s not just the different food I eat what gives me the strength… It’s the love of all those awesome people.
I don’t mind they are poor, because they have passed a lot of extremely bad times in their life… these incredible tribes are different from us. And I really love the way they see the things, the world and their point of view.
Saying that, I think I will stay for longer than two month.
You have to come, because you will love them. They are amazing.
Come and see it by yourself.
Send me a letter back, please.
Lots of love,
LAIA

A COLORFUL WORLD

Can you imagine a new world full of different colours? What would you think if people get mad and start changing the usual colours to unusual ones? I would get extremely enthusiastic.

People will be thoughtful and easy-going because things with colours make us more outgoing. Colours are the key to make us challenge our personality and even more in these times.

We are living in a period of crisis and people are grumpy and moody more than many years ago. A colourful life is what we need to disconnect!

Why don’t we paint the trees blue? Why don’t we paint the roads pink? Have you ever thought that? Technology has created many things, why couldn’t it create something to paint big structures?

As far as I’m concerned, I agree to change the boring things to agreeable objects. Let’s change our reserved character to a joyful one! Let’s paint the city with the colours of the rainbow! Everything is possible with a little bite of hope and enthusiasm.

Describing a photo connected with the request of the volunteering in Reef Conservation

Al the top of the photo we can see a perfectly transparent and blue water. It’s so clean and it transmits a lot of purity to me.

At the centre of the picture we can appreciate a majestic reef with it smalls and cute fishes swinging around it. They are orange with a good looking shape. The reef is absolutely adorable because of the colour, although you can find it as a simple reef, I consider that’s so valuable and that’s an argument that can be supported by many other divers.

The background is more or less the same; there are many reefs with its colours and silhouettes.

I really like this photo because it makes me feel as if I were diving around the picture, as if I were there. Another reason why I find it gorgeous is because of the impact of the colours; all the background with a perfect blue, at the middle a subdued green reef and at the top of the reef an impact of colour on account of the fishes.

All the picture in itself passes on a movement, the form of the positions of the fishes are simply awesome…

I’m looking forward to go just right now, looking at those photos make me feel impatient to go and do the volunteering helping with the conservation with this awesome landscape.
