Why is Mediterranean diet healthy?

The Mediterranean diet consists of an abundance of vegetables, fresh fruit, wholegrain cereals, olive oil and nuts, poultry and fish. But the combinations of the olive oil and leafy salad or vegetables are what make it the healthiest, as many scientists say.

All the food already said has nutritional benefits and it’s another reason of why it’s so healthy.

Professor Philip Eaton and Co. believe that all those fusion of ingredients makes nitro fatty acids. They saw, with genetically engineered, their impact on the body and the conclusion was that they helped in a lower blood pressure by blocking an enzyme called epoxide hydrolase. Professor Eaton says that if they are able to tap into this they could make new drugs for treating high blood pressure and preventing heart diseases.

This new discoveries are good for new pathways in Chemistry, Biology, Medicine… all kind of investigations. Every little step is welcome to this new world of technology because I’m sure that we will be stronger and healthier than what we are now. Welcome to the new world where everything is possible!
